How We Are Disrupting HIV Care

CRF Using Data and Technology to End the HIV Epidemic

The Collaborative Research Foundation is dedicated to redefining the conventional HIV service delivery model through the strategic use of data and technology to significantly improve HIV prevention and care outcomes. By employing data-driven and technology-enhanced methods, we aim to create more efficient, targeted, and impactful interventions.
To achieve this, we propose a systematic approach that involves conducting a thorough community scan to identify and assess existing variables. Often, barriers to care faced by clients remain unaddressed, leading them to focus more on overcoming these obstacles rather than prioritizing their health.
With two decades of experience supporting clients across the nation, we have observed that many challenges can be traced back to a common underlying issue. Our innovative approach seeks to eliminate the subjective interpretation of clients’ needs. Instead, we harness local data to develop customized care plans that are driven by technology.
This methodology ensures that care is both personalized and efficient, aligning with the specific needs of each community.

Here’s how we plan to implement this transformative approach.

Assess

Community Engagement
Conduct surveys, focus groups, and interviews with individuals living with HIV, healthcare providers, and community organizations to understand their needs and gaps in current services.
Data Analysis
Analyze existing data on HIV prevalence, treatment adherence rates, and outcomes to identify areas that need improvement.

Service Design and Development

Predictive Analytics
Use predictive models to identify individuals at risk of poor outcomes and tailor interventions accordingly.
Identify and Maximize Local Resources
Tailor services to fit the specific needs of different communities, considering factors like cultural background and local health infrastructure.
Creating Customized Solutions like Personalized Health Plans
Create individualized care plans based on data insights and patient preferences.

Results

By combining data insights with advanced technology and community-focused approaches, The Collaborative Research Foundation can create services that significantly improve HIV outcomes and enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by the virus and help end the HIV epidemic.

Services For A Better Tomorrow

For people with HIV, our goal is for everyone to achieve an undetectable status.

Ending the HIV epidemic will take radically innovative strategies to both treat and prevent HIV. For example, one of our strategies is to approach everyone in a “status neutral” manner, meaning we emphasize a high level of care regardless of HIV status.

Stories We Want to Share

Spotlight: Keith Haring

The Artist Who Turned Graffiti into a Powerful Tool for Social Activism

Keith Haring was an influential American artist and social activist renowned for his vibrant, graffiti-inspired artworks that often carried social messages. Born in 1958, Haring’s work gained prominence in the 1980s, characterized by its bold lines, vivid colors, and dynamic figures. Beyond his artistic contributions, Haring was a passionate advocate for social causes, including the fight against HIV/AIDS. Diagnosed with AIDS in 1988, he used his art to raise awareness and support for those affected by the disease. Haring established the Keith Haring Foundation in 1989 to support organizations fighting HIV/AIDS and children’s programs. His legacy continues to inspire and drive efforts in HIV prevention, education, and care, making him a significant figure for those interested in supporting HIV-related charities.

In that spirit the Collaborative Research Foundation is continuing to Be The Light in the fight to End HIV.

In 1988, Keith Haring was diagnosed with AIDS. By then, the disease had already claimed many friends and luminaries in New York City, the art world, and beyond. The diagnosis was not a surprise to Keith.

“All of the things that you make are a kind of quest for immortality. Because you’re making these things that you know have a different kind of life. They don’t depend on breathing, so they’ll last longer than any of us will. Which is sort of an interesting idea, that it’s sort of extending your life to some degree.”[19. Daniel Drenger, “Art and Life: An Interview with Keith Haring,” Columbia Art Review, Spring 1988, p. 49.]

People Who Care about Our Mission

What They Say

“I am an advocate, and as an advocate I want everyone to know how important prevention is. I want everyone to know that having HIV is not a death sentence. You can live a full and fulfilling life with HIV and you have support.”

- Hank C.

“I want my children not to live in fear that every time something shows up in the world, it could potentially take their life. I want them to know that there are organizations out there, that make it their goal to eradicate any type of illness.[…] that say, no we’re not making this the reality of our lives and that we can actually conquer them.”

- Liza M.

“What my hope for the future is a vaccine that we can implement and it will be like a routine thing, like how you get your flu shot every year. Like kids get their Hep B shot and other shots to prevent STDs. Don’t make it such a big deal, normalize it.”
